Access Gap
Canada has the strengths to lead in life sciences. Now will it? - The Globe and Mail / Strength meets a structural gap
"That is where the gap persists. Despite receiving Health Canada approval, a growing number of medicines are not reaching patients. In fact, only 21 per cent of new medicines become available through Canadian public plans. For those that do, Canadians wait an average of two years following approval – the longest wait in the G7. For people living with serious or complex conditions, these delays can mean real consequences for their health outcomes and quality of life."
