How are arrays passed to methods in Java?
ComputerScienceOne / Multidimensional Arrays
"In Java, arrays are always passed by reference. Though we did not make any changes to the contents of the passed array in the particular example, in general we could have. Any such changes would be realized in the calling method. Unfortunately, there is no mechanism by which we can prevent changes to arrays when passed to methods."
