"The people of Yemen used to come for Hajj without enough provisions and said that they depended on Allah. On arriving in Medina, they begged the people, so Allah revealed: \"And take a provision (with you) for the journey, but the best provision is the fear of Allah.\" (2.197).\n\n`Aisha used to scent Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) when he wanted to assume Ihram and also on finishing Ihram before the Tawaf round the Ka`ba. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) assumed Ihram with his hair matted together. He did not assume Ihram except at the Mosque of Dhul-Hulaifa.\n\nA man asked what kind of clothes a Muhrim should wear. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) replied that he should not wear a shirt, a turban, trousers, a headcloak, or leather socks, except that if he could find no slippers he might wear leather socks after cutting off what covered the ankles. He should not wear clothes scented with saffron or Wars.\n\nThe Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions started from Medina after combing and oiling his hair and putting on two sheets of Ihram. He did not forbid any kind of sheets except those colored with saffron because they might leave scent on the skin. At Dhul-Hulaifa, he mounted his Mount, and when they reached Baida' he and his companions recited Talbiya and performed Taqlid by putting colored garlands around the necks of the camels for sacrifice. This happened on the 25th of Dhul-Qa'da.\n\nWhen he reached Mecca on the 4th of Dhul-Hijja, he performed Tawaf round the Ka`ba and Tawaf between Safa and Marwa. Because he had a garlanded sacrificial animal, he did not finish his Ihram. He proceeded toward the highest places of Mecca near Al-Hujun and assumed Ihram for Hajj. He did not go near the Ka`ba after that Tawaf until he returned from `Arafat. He ordered his companions to perform Tawaf round the Ka`ba and Tawaf of Safa and Marwa, cut short the hair of their heads, and finish their Ihram. This applied to those who had not garlanded sacrificial animals. Those who had their wives with them were permitted to have sexual intercourse, and perfume and ordinary clothes were permissible for them.\n\nThe Prophet (ﷺ) offered four rak`at in Medina and two rak`at at Dhul-Hulaifa, passed the night there, and when he mounted his Mount and it stood upright, he started to recite Talbiya. The companions heard reciting Talbiya together loudly. The Talbiya of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was: \"Labbaika Allahumma labbaik, Labbaika la sharika Laka labbaik, Inna-l-hamda wan-ni'mata Laka walmulk, La sharika Laka.\""
