"When physiological needs are relatively satisfied, safety needs become more prominent. Physical threats such as war, disasters, violence, or abuse can undermine safety, while economic threats can create a desire for job security, savings, insurance, and disability accommodations. Safety needs include personal security, financial security, health, well-being, and protection against accidents and illness."
