"Narrated Abdullah bin Umar: Umar bought a silk cloak from the market, took it to Allahs Messenger, and asked him to take it and adorn himself with it during the Eid and when delegations visited him. Allahs Messenger replied that this dress was for those who had no share in the Hereafter. After a long period, Allahs Messenger sent Umar a cloak of silk brocade. Umar reminded him of his earlier statement, and Allahs Messenger told him to sell it and fulfill his needs with its proceeds.\n\nNarrated Aisha: Allahs Messenger came to Aishas house while two girls were singing songs of Buath. The Prophet lay down and turned his face to the other side. Abu Bakr came and spoke harshly to Aisha, asking whether musical instruments of Satan were near the Prophet. Allahs Messenger told him to leave them. It was the day of Eid, and Black people were playing with shields and spears. Aisha asked, or the Prophet asked her, whether she wanted to see the display. She agreed, and the Prophet stood her behind him with her cheek touching his cheek while he encouraged the performers until she became tired. He then asked whether she was satisfied and told her to leave.\n\nNarrated Aisha: Abu Bakr came to Aishas house while two small Ansari girls were singing stories of the Ansar concerning the Day of Buath. They were not singers. Abu Bakr protested against musical instruments of Satan in the house of Allahs Messenger. It was the day of Eid, and Allahs Messenger told Abu Bakr that every nation has an Eid and that this was their Eid."
