"Narrated Anas: The Prophet said that whoever slaughtered his sacrifice before the Eid prayer should slaughter again. A man explained that it was a day when people desired meat and mentioned his neighbors. He then said he had a young she-goat dearer to him than the meat of two sheep. The Prophet permitted him to slaughter it as a sacrifice, though the narrator did not know whether that permission applied only to him or to others as well.\n\nNarrated Al-Bara bin Azib: The Prophet delivered the Khutba after offering the prayer on the Day of Nahr and said that whoever prayed like them and slaughtered like them would have his Nusuk accepted by Allah. Whoever slaughtered before the Eid prayer had not performed the sacrifice. Abu Burda bin Niyar said that he had slaughtered his sheep before the prayer because he thought the day was for eating and drinking, not alcoholic drinks, and wanted his sheep to be the first slaughtered in his house. The Prophet said that the sheep was merely mutton, not a Nusuk. Abu Burda then asked whether a young she-goat dearer to him than two sheep would suffice as a Nusuk. The Prophet said it would suffice for him but not for anyone else after him.\n\nNarrated Al-Bara bin Azib: The first thing to do on the day is to pray and then return to slaughter the sacrifice. Whoever does so acts according to the Sunnah. Whoever slaughtered before the prayer offered only meat to his family, and it would not be considered a Nusuk. Abu Burda bin Niyyar said he had slaughtered the Nusuk before the prayer but had a young she-goat better than an older sheep. The Prophet told him to sacrifice it in place of the first, but said it would not suffice as a sacrifice for anyone else after him.\n\nNarrated Al-Bara: On the Day of Nahr, the Prophet said that the first thing to do was to pray and then return and slaughter the sacrifices. Whoever did so acted according to the Sunnah. Whoever slaughtered before the prayer offered only meat to his family and it would not be considered a sacrifice. Abu Burda bin Niyyar said he had slaughtered before the prayer and had a young she-goat better than an older sheep. The Prophet told him to slaughter it in place of the first, but said that such a goat would not be considered a sacrifice for anyone else after him.\n\nNarrated Ibn Abbas: No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done during the first ten days of Dhul Hijja. The companions asked whether not even Jihad was superior. The Prophet replied that not even Jihad, except for a person who went out with himself and his property in danger for Allahs sake and returned with neither.\n\nNarrated Muhammad bin Abi Bakr Al-Thaqafi: While traveling from Mina to Arafat, he asked Anas bin Malik about Talbiya and how it was recited with the Prophet. Anas said that people used to recite Talbiya, and nobody objected; they also used to say Takbir, and nobody objected.\n\nNarrated Um Atiya: The women were ordered to come out on the Day of Eid, including virgin girls and menstruating women. They stood behind the men, said Takbir with them, invoked Allah, and hoped for the blessings of the day and purification from sins.\n\nNarrated Ibn Umar: On the days of Eid ul Fitr and Eid ul Adha, a spear was planted in front of the Prophet as a Sutra for the prayer, and he prayed facing it.\n\nNarrated Ibn Umar: The Prophet proceeded to the Musalla, and an Anaza was carried before him and planted in front of him as a Sutra while he prayed facing it.\n\nNarrated Muhammad: Um Atiya said that the Prophet ordered them to come out on Eid with the mature girls and the virgins staying in seclusion. Hafsa narrated this and added that the mature girls or virgins staying in seclusion, but the menstruating women, were also included."
