You're looking at one of the most detailed maps of the universe ever created. Every point of light isn't a star, it's an entire galaxy, sometimes whole clusters of them. This map was built by the Dark Energy spectroscopic instrument. So far, it has measured spectra for over 47 million galaxies and quasars. What you're seeing is the large scale structure of the universe, how galaxies group together and trace patterns across space. Even then, this reel barely does it just set goes far deeper than what can fit on a screen. Some people see this and feel small. Others just pause at the scale of it all. But what about you? How does this make you feel?
