You will lose a court case even if you are 100% right because every business owner and founder must know this. You don't win a court case based on facts. You win it also based on affordability. And something I'm seeing happen in India a lot right now is a number of business owners are being sent legal notices as a threat to waste their time to waste their money and savings. And this is being done by larger competitors to actually distract you and to kill your business. And look at the ways in which they do it. Either any of your employees who has exited the company, they will make the employee send you a legal notice for some kind of damages, or they will find a customer to send you a legal notice saying that your product actually caused them some kind of harm. Or they will say that some ad that you made or a product that you've made has actually been copied from their product. Thus dragging you to court. Their idea is to just four insurances you must absolutely take that cover the cost of fighting these legal battles and you will not have to pay it from your savings. For example, the first one is called a professional indemnity or an ENO policy, which means if someone claims that because of your advice, your service or your product, they have faced some kind of harm. This will take care of the legal charges of paying your lawyers to fight that case. The second one is a general commercial liability. If your business exists in a public space, for didn't like you you know they can file a false claim against you this can take care of it then finally there is also a directors and officers insurance known as DNO because when someone files a case against the company they also typically tend to send notices to directors in their individual capacity and this will ensure that your personal assets are not dragged into it and the company will take care of all legal expenses. I've given a lot more in the description. Share it with someone who may need it.
