Almost every time I start a new Minecraft world, there is always one type of food farm I instantly make, and I believe it's the best type of food farm early game. It's not a farm with seeds that you have to constantly replant and craft the food each time, and it's not a farm where you have to constantly breed animals and kill them over and over again to cook their food. So what is it? It's an automatic cooked chicken farm, and all you need is a bunch of eggs to hatch chickens in this one by one area and honestly not that much redstone goes into it, it's fairly simple. The chickens in here lay eggs that go into this hopper and get shot out here where the chickens are caught on fire when they grow up, giving us cooked chicken in this chest. It's fun to build, super easy, fully automatic and the food restores a lot of hunger.
