Did you ever know how a neural network uses forward propagation to generate a prediction? Before it can even calculate if it was right or wrong? Before any complex learning happens, it just makes a blind guess using its current settings. To start the process, we feed the network an input, an image of a cat. Those raw pixel values enter the very first layer of neurons. Each neuron scales these incoming values by its own unique settings, called weights. and then adds a baseline threshold, known as a bias. But this raw mathematical result isn't ready to advance just yet. First, it must pass through a structural hurdle called an activation function. Only then does that transformed output become the raw input for the next hidden layer, repeating the exact same cycle. The data pushes strictly forward, layer by layer. Eventually, the final layer produces the actual prediction probabilities. This entire forward journey is purely the model's inference pipeline. It just asks what it predicts right now, meaning zero learning has a...
