What is a embedding model? An embedding model is a machine learning model that can take text photos videos files stuff like that and it converts them into vectors also known as embeddings now text embedding specifically the Underland neural network pretty much processes a large amount of text and a lot of different contexts So semantic meaning can actually be derived from a given word and a lot of different contexts Now why would I ever use embeddings? What's the use case for embedding models for a business? Firstly, you have semantic search. This is the vector search where you have a lot of data and embedding model and you have a search query and you convert your search query into a vector. And then, yeah, you do cosine similarity or you calculate the Euclidean distance between those two vectors to ultimately find the most relevant answer or information for a given search query. Next, you have RAG, which is Retrieval Augmented Generation. This is the whole event LLM you connected to an embedding model and this enables the LLM to retrieve more context for a given search query. Next, you have cluster analysis. So say you have an embedding model and you have a service that is experiencing a lot of different problems and you get error logs. Now you can take those error logs and put them into an embedding model and you can do cluster analysis. And yeah, you can kind of see where in a service, you know, you have a lot of different services, a lot of different moving parts where a lot of problems or problematic requests or errors are occurring. So that is embedding models. If you have any questions or insights, feel free to comment them down below, but I'll see ya. Peace.
