"CICD is not magic, it is just 6 steps, let me explain in 60 seconds. Everything starts with a developer pushes the new code to GitHub, creates a peer, the team reviews the new code and merges it to main branch. Now the moment code merges, CA kicks in. Runs unit test, integration test, security scan happens here, it will check the code quality as well. If anything fails, pipeline stops there. Broken code never moves forward. If all the checks pass, a Docker image is built. Your code, all the dependencies, runtime, everything is bundled inside a container. And that image is pushed to a registry like Docker Hub. Now the same image, deploys to a server called staging. It's an identical server to a production. Health checks, DB connection, critical flows. Everything is checked here. Now, if everything is good in staging, Kubernetes rolls it out in the production gradually. So first, it will show 5% of the user. It will check for any error. Then it will show 25% of user. Then eventually 50% and finally 100%. If anything break at any stage, it will just roll back to the previous image. No humans needed. The entire process will take 15 minutes, zero downtime, fully automated. And that's CICD."
