"This is nested conditions, and in 60 seconds you'll understand exactly why it's wrong and how to fix it. The more conditions you nest inside each other, the harder your code becomes to read. Simple as that. With the guard clauses technique, you will be able to write safer and more readable code. Let's start. This code is simple. If the user is logged in, if he has items in cart, and if the payment is valid, process the order. Instead of jumping between each if and else statement, we should use the guard clauses technique. You flip each condition and exit early if it fails. Not logged in. Return immediately. No items in cart? Return. Invalid payment? Return. By the time you reach the actual logic, you already know everything is valid. No nesting. No pyramid. Just a flat, clean, top-to-bottom read. Same logic. completely different readability. That's guard clauses."
