c in carbon taxes and now Mark Carney is announcing another 34 million to help communities cope with climate change. Where did the first 45 billion go? Here's where I get stuck. Four years, we were told that the carbon tax was necessary because it would fight climate change. Canadians paid more at the pump, more for transportation and more for everyday goods because those costs get passed down to us, the consumer. We've now paid over 45 billion through carbon taxes. Understand that for a second. So if that much money has already been collected, why are taxpayers being asked for even more money? At some point, we Canadians deserve transparency. Where did the money go? What results did we get? Why does every solution seem to involve another government announcement and another check? And if I was making the decisions, I'd start with a simple rule. Before asking Canadians for another dollar, we have to prove where the previous dollars went. Because Canadians aren't asking for bigger headlines. They are asking for competence. They are asking for accountability. And they are asking for a government that treats their tax dollars like they earned them, because we did. So if you're tired of asking where your money went, follow me. Let's put Canada first again.
