To ace data science interviews, preparation is key. Here are three things that I personally did to learn my dream job. First, figure out your preferred learning style. Do you prefer reading, listening, or watching videos? I personally prefer reading, so I gathered a list of books and blog posts to read through to prepare for my interviews. For example, I read some books to help me build my product sense and knowledge on A/B testing. Second, iteration and repetition are important to internalize what you have learned, especially for coding and SQL problems. For each topic, I repeated the practice at least three times before the actual interview. The first time is always the most time consuming as I just started learning the fundamentals. The next two times were much faster and the last time was a quick review of what I had learned. Third, do mock-news. Mock-newials are a great way to practice what you have learned. This is important because even if you think you know a concept, it can be hard to explain it explicitly to another person in interviews. Practicing using mock-navials help me understand my skill level and what areas needed improvement.
