This is a day in my life as a PhD student in data science at the University of Chicago. After breakfast and work out, I left downtown for campus. My current research interests lies in the area of biology, mainly developing and generating models for biological sequences like proteins or DNAs. As a first year PhD student, I still need to take some classes. For this quarter, I'm mainly taking two classes. The first is a required class, then a responsible use of algorithms that talks about the ethical foundations in current AI research. And the second is a theoretical class about spectrum method and non-conflict optimization. After class, I would hold an office hour for other graph data lines course as a TA. Today is a little bit special as we would hold a welcome session for our admitted incoming Ph.G. Cool Force. When I get back home, I just hit the dream and finish my day off and start my day.
