What is the difference between data science and machine learning? There seems to be not a super big consensus. So machine learning is basically sort of like teaching computers how to do things like make predictions. The reason why it's so confusing is because data scientists can also use machine learning techniques to do their work. But data scientists don't only use machine learning, they also use all kinds of other tools. The whole data science field is also kind of new. Until recently, they didn't even have a major at universities, so you can study data science.
