I don't have a garden, but I was able to grow all of these vegetables from my own bedroom in three weeks. Okay, a bedroom is a really weird place to grow vegetables, I admit. But, kind of, I don't have a kitchen right now because there's a major leak that requires extensive renovations, so the bedroom will have to do because we still gotta eat our veggies, right? The beauty of the system is that you can have a portable garden anywhere. I ran to the store to buy some seeds and I learned that seeds vary vastly in quality and price. So this will be a little experiment to see how store-bought seeds do. Give them a little shakey shake out of the bag and I popped a single seed in one of these little wet sponge pots. Because no soil is involved, this is truly mess-free. Took a little break to pick up my daughter from school. When I came back, I completely forgot the order in which I planted the seeds. So this will be a fun guessing game. Yes, yes, I do have a label maker in the shape of a bear. You know you want one. Literally just randomly labeling these and hoping that I got it right. Most excited about growing the basil because pesto is life. After I poured in the plant food into the reservoir, plugged the whole thing in and turned on the built-in grow lights that are specifically designed to grow veggies. I can't believe how much growth happened in just three weeks, but follow along for part two because you'll never believe what I found.
