You might not know this, but those leftover lychee seeds can grow into the cutest little houseplant with beautiful pink new leaves. Start by picking a few large plump lychee seeds. Clean off all the fruit, then soak them in water for three to five days, changing the water every day. Once the seeds split open and you see the white root emerging, they're ready for the next step. Place the soaked seeds on a damp paper towel, then cover them with another damp paper towel. Keep the towels moist at all times and mist them whenever they start to dry out. You can also cover them with plastic wrap to help hold in moisture. In about five days, when the roots are about three quarters inch long, it's time to move them into water. Use a hydroponic container with a mesh insert. Thread the roots through the openings so they can reach the water. Once the shoots start to emerge, keep the container in a dark spot for a few days. That's the secret to getting those gorgeous pink leaves. Before long, you'll have your own little pink indoor forest. Just keep in mind that as the plant gets more light, those pink leaves will gradually turn green. Watching it grow is such a simple joy and a great reminder of how amazing nature can be. Give it a try and if you do, share your results in the comments. Don't forget to follow for more easy plant care tips.
