Did you know you can make a hydroponic tower using things you probably already have at home? First, you'll need a 1-gallon plastic container. Make 3 holes spaced around the side of the container. Fill it with clean water all the way to the top, then prepare a nutrient solution. You can buy one at any farm supply store. If you're growing lettuce like I am, make sure it's a formula for leafy crops. Next, take 3 hydroponic cups. If you don't have them, you can use regular plastic cups and make small holes in the bottom. Fill each cup with peat moss and transplant your lettuce seedlings into them. Place each cup into one of the holes you made in the container. Now, here's something very important. The water must be oxygenated. To do that, you can use an air pump like the ones used for fish tanks. If the water isn't oxygenated, the roots will drown and your plants will stop growing. Keep the water a nutrient solution in good condition and after about four weeks, your lettuce will be fully grown, ready to harvest and free of pests and diseases. [BLANK_AUDIO]
