If you want access to grow food year-round, consider growing in hydroponics. Now that these plants have bolted, I'll go through the process of growing in a deep water hydroponic system. I'm removing the ones that need to be replaced and keeping the ones that I can by pruning the roots. The medium that I use mostly on my hydroponics setup is called Leca Klay Pables, which can be used over and over again. To contain a Leca, I'm using a 3 inch net pot. and as for oxygen, I'm using an air bubbler with an air stone connected to the end of it. Nutrients is a must have when you're growing in water. It can either be purchased or made and since I'm mainly growing leafy greens, I usually make my own from dried kelp. And depending on the fermentation length, water to nutrient ratio will vary. Aside from not all I need to do is fill the container with water about an inch above the bottom of the net pot. It's also a lot easier to transition seedlings when you germinate in the same medium, but it can be done in soil as well. As for light, I use an LED grow light, but this can be done outdoors as well or near a bright window that receives 6 or 8 hours of sun.
