Let's grow 36 plants in just 4 square feet. I bought a hydroponic garden stand because I wanted to grow my own food in my tiny, tiny rental side yard. So let's get it set up together. In researching my options, one of the reasons I was drawn to this stand was its conservative water usage. The self-watering pump circulates water throughout the system. This pump means that only around 1 gallon of water is used per plant over their lifetime compared to their around 20 gallons used in traditional gardening. I bought pre-spurred seeds this time around, but in the future I plan to sprout my own seeds to save even more money and use less plastic, but these are super convenient. All I need to do here is pop them into a little cup and place that cup into the garden tower. The time commitment for this garden is only 5-10 minutes a week to add water and nutrients, adjust pH levels, order new seedlings if necessary, and harvest. As you can see some of my seedlings were a little shocked from their travel to me, but I'm excited to see them start to thrive and be able to harvest in just a few weeks.
