This zero-waste trick begins right after the rice harvest. When dried patty is milled to extract the grain, it leaves behind massive amounts of outer shells, commonly known as rice husks. To manufacture these organic dishes, the machine first thoroughly cleans the husks. After mixing in just a tiny amount of water, the material is fed into a high pressure heat molding machine that instantly presses it into beautiful, durable plates. Because they are 100% natural, these plates contain no harmful chemicals. When discarded, they decompose completely and help fertilize the soil. Or they can be safely fed to cows, ducks and chickens. They are even using this technology to make eco-friendly cups and spoons.
