This EUV photolithography system is essentially a microchip copying machine, as it's used to print and copy the pattern for hundreds of microchips across a silicon wafer. Here's a quick overview of how it works. Inside the source vessel, tin droplets are hit by two consecutive laser pulses, thereby producing a glowing plasma and extreme ultraviolet or EUV light with a 13 nanometer wavelength. This light bounces off a set of mirrors until it reaches the reticle which contains the microchip's master blueprints, thereby imprinting the design of the microchip into the light. This patterned light then bounces off a set of optical mirrors that project and focus the light onto a silicon wafer, where the pattern of the microchip is then printed. The wafer then moves to the next position where the copying is repeated until the wafer is filled with a hundred microchips and therefore
