Name one thing you know about fighter jets. They're fast and they do dogfights. Both wrong. And that's just the start. How is fast wrong? They literally break the sound barrier. Breaking the sound barrier is the easy part. The hard part is the fuel. An F-22 burns through its tank in about 30 minutes at full afterburner. 30 minutes? Some jets spend more time refueling in the air than they spend in combat. Speed isn't free. Fine. But dogfights are real. Top Gun wasn't lying about everything. So they never even see the enemy? What about stealth golf ball instead of a fighter jet. So stealth planes can still be found. Lower frequency radars can still detect it. Okay, last one. Ejecting is just pulling a handle and floating down safely. The ejection seat fires with enough force to compress your spine by up to an inch. The escape plan breaks you. Ejecting saves your life. That's the trade.
