It has a refining capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. But the refinery is breaching that barrier. It is trying to refine even higher amounts to keep up with the global demand. And the Dengoti Group has been seeing its efforts bearing fruit. In both June and July, the Dengoti Refinery in Lagos was the largest external supplier of jet fuel to Europe. Dengoti exported more jet fuel to Europe than all US refiners. In June, the figure was about 466,000 tons. In July, it fell to about 400,000 tons, but that was still more than all the American jet fuel exports to Europe. The reason for the fall in July was a breakdown at the refinery. This took place in early July and it took weeks to fix. But despite the breakdown, the Dengote refinery still kept its place at the top of the chart. This is a massive victory for the Dengote Group and a moment of pride for Nigeria.
