Concept
Polynomial Power
Quantitative Problem Solving in Natural Resources / Generalizing Relationships
"Polynomial functions contain integer powers of the independent variable, while power functions allow arbitrary exponents. Exponential functions place the independent variable in the exponent and describe processes such as growth or decay, whereas logarithmic functions are inverses of exponential functions and increase increasingly slowly. These families help represent spatial scaling, population growth, radioactive decay, light attenuation, and transformations of measured relationships."
