Four Stages
Quantitative Problem Solving in Natural Resources / Problem Solving as a Process
"Pólya’s method consists of understanding the problem, planning a solution strategy, executing the plan, and checking the result. Understanding identifies the unknown and determines whether the available information is relevant and sufficient. Planning selects and organizes possible steps, execution implements them, and checking tests whether the result satisfies the conditions, expectations, and reasonable bounds of the problem."
