Acute Characteristics

Factors associated with persistent post-COVID-19 condition and functional limitation four years after SARS-CoV-2 infection | Scientific Reports / Conclusion

"In this study, we identified key acute-phase characteristics associated with post–COVID-19 condition (PCC) and persistent symptoms related to functional limitation as measured by the PCFS scale. Advanced age and acute-phase neurocognitive, affective, and cardiorespiratory symptoms were associated with long-term symptom persistence. Higher PCFS scores at one and four years post-infection were observed in participants reporting persistent fatigue, depression, dyspnea, and musculoskeletal complaints."
