Slope Correct

Quantitative Problem Solving in Natural Resources / A Solved Problem

"The difference between the two edge-of-water elevations provides the rise associated with the tape tilt, while the distance between those stations provides the run. Dividing rise by run gives the tape slope, which can then be used to calculate a correction for each station based on its distance from the reference point. A spreadsheet makes it practical to apply the correction consistently to every elevation."
