Health Education Health 100 Version 3 / General Adaptation Syndrome
"Hans Selye described general adaptation syndrome as a three-stage response to stress: alarm, resistance, and exhaustion. Alarm mobilizes the body’s resources, resistance attempts to adapt and repair, and exhaustion occurs when stress continues and resources become depleted. Prolonged exhaustion can impair immune function and damage normal bodily processes."
