Manganese Molybdenum
Human Nutrition / Summary of Trace Minerals
"Manganese sources include legumes, nuts, and leafy green vegetables. The recommended intake for adults is 1.8–2.3 mg/day. Manganese is involved in glucose synthesis and amino-acid catabolism. Deficiency can cause impaired growth, skeletal abnormalities, and abnormal glucose metabolism. No groups are listed as at risk for deficiency. Toxicity can cause nerve damage; the UL is 11 mg/day. Molybdenum sources include milk, grains, and legumes. The recommended intake is 45 mcg/day. Molybdenum is a cofactor for a number of enzymes. Deficiency is unknown, and no groups are listed as at risk for deficiency. Toxicity can cause arthritis and joint inflammation; the UL is 2 mg/day."
