"Sexual violence is sexual activity for which consent is not obtained or freely given. It can include rape, unwanted touching, sexual harassment, threats, exposure, and other non-contact acts, and the perpetrator is often someone known to the victim. Sexual violence can cause chronic pain, sexually transmitted infections, fear, depression, substance use, risky sexual behavior, and suicidal thoughts."
