Introduction to Soil Science / Function of Soils

"Soil functions can be grouped into products, resources, culture, and environment. Soils support food and plant production, provide materials such as clay for bricks, and contribute to products such as antibiotics. They also hold water and carbon, support recreation and cultural spaces, filter water, reduce flooding, recycle waste, and provide other ecosystem services."
