Water Held
Introduction to Soil Science / Soil Water
"Soil water is water held in the unsaturated zone above the groundwater table. Hydrogen bonding creates adhesion between water and soil particles and cohesion among water molecules, producing capillary suction that can move water through pores against gravity. The amount and movement of water depend strongly on soil texture, structure, and pore-size distribution."
