Three Types
Introduction to Soil Science / Water Flow in Soil
"Saturated flow occurs when all pores are filled with water and is generally the fastest type of flow. Unsaturated flow occurs when some pores contain air and water moves through remaining water-filled pores and films, making it slower than saturated flow. Vapor flow occurs when water moves as a gas through extremely thin films and is the slowest form."
