Infiltration Percolation
Introduction to Soil Science / Infiltration and Permeability
"Infiltration is the movement of water into the soil through the surface. Percolation describes movement through the soil profile, vertically or horizontally, while permeability describes how readily water moves through soil’s pore system. Texture, structure, residue, crusting, and contrasting particle sizes influence these processes."
