Soil Textural
Introduction to Soil Science / Soil Texture
"Textural classes group soils according to their proportions of sand, silt, and clay. These classes help predict water holding capacity, drainage, aeration, erodibility, and management concerns. A particle name such as clay refers to size, while a clay textural class requires more than 40 percent clay-sized particles."
