Dynamic Soil
Introduction to Soil Science / Soil Geography
"Soil survey maps commonly emphasize static properties that change slowly and represent natural soil capability. Dynamic properties such as nitrate can change through plant uptake, denitrification, leaching, and lateral water movement. Because these processes alter spatial patterns over time, dynamic properties are difficult to represent accurately on a static map."
